Karen Dreyer (Practice Administrator) has worked in the Health Care field for over 34 years. She has earned an AA degree in Business Administration and over time, Karen has lived through the many changes that have occurred in health care. With all of this “on the ground” experience, she has gained much insight into how to effectively manage a medical practice. She has managed and consulted in multiple specialties and has an extensive background in medical billing and accounts receivable. Karen spent 10 years serving as the Business Office Manager for a large physician practice. We feel very fortunate to have Karen serving as our Practice Administrator.
Kim Wettengel - For the past 17 years Kim has been involved with managing various aspects of the administrative side of keeping a medical practice running smoothly (not an easy feat). She has worked with Dr. Goldstone for all of this time. Her years of experience have allowed her to obtain valuable skills and insight that can only be gained from navigating in an ever changing environment such as that which has continued to occur in the practice of medicine. Kim has been married to her husband for 29 years. She enjoys all outdoor sports and really loves bowling. Her dedication to doing her work in a perfect fashion is very appreciated by the rest of the office staff and by patients, as well.
Jackie Chattin - Many of you might already recognize Jackie as the smiling face of our reception area. Jackie offers a wealth of medical office experience. She has spent a total of 29 years in billing and front desk operations. Her experience started in general medical billing and later became more specialized in orthopeaedics and ENT. She is trained on ICD-10, CPT and Medical Terminology. Jackie is a native of Baltimore where she has raised her five children and nine grandchildren. Jackie says the most rewarding part of her job is connecting with the patients and making a difference.
Cathy Brown has now worked with Dr. Goldstone for over 17 years, answering the phone and working the check-in/check-out counters. Prior to shifting her career to the field of medicine, Cathy took on-the-phone shoe orders for Holabird Sports. With all of Cathy's experience from selling shoes to answering calls pertaining to the Ear, Nose & Throat, we like to say that Cathy has done her job “from head to toe.” In her free time, Cathy enjoys spending days with her husband of 12 years, her two daughters, and her five amazing grandchildren. At your next visit, keep an eye out for Cathy’s smiling face as she waves you down the hall to the checkout counter.
Dawn Carrier serves the practice as our principal clinical specialist. In addition, she assists in many other clerical aspects of the office. She can best be described as being our office "air traffic controller." Before we were lucky enough to have her join our team, Dawn gained much experience working for 16 years in the food catering industry managing various aspects. Her experience in a non-medical field has brought a truly wonderful and unexpected addition to our practice. Dawn has been married for 24 years and has four beautiful children. In addition to working with people, she enjoys cooking, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Barbara Smith - We are very pleased to have Barbara as a member of our team. She possesses a broad background, which greatly enhances our office’s patient focused approach. After obtaining an AA degree in business management, Barb spent 16 years as an Insurance Underwriter, followed by several years as a marketing assistant for a local bank. In 2008 – after raising her two children – Barb entered the medical field. Since then, she has gained meaningful patient management and clerical experience serving in various office roles. In addition, she has spent time as a substitute teacher for Carroll County Public Schools. Married for more than 45 years, Barb has two grandchildren and enjoys reading, crafts, and family time.
